Saw Stevie Nicks last night at Jones Beach. Not usu too keen on seeing 1970s rockers years later but her music has grown on me over last ~10 years — I like it better now than when it was released — and the show last night was excellent.

Near the end, two drummers (one on bongos) played for what seemed like 10 min before Stevie’s guitarist started in with another 5-10 of pure guitar riff, backed by really nice visuals a la Chem Bros or Underworld. Beautiful, and I didn’t even recognize the track at first (I was prob one of the few), but slowly I began to see where it was going. Then, Stevie walked out and sang “Just like the white winged dove…”

From Wikipedia: “Edge of Seventeen” is a song by American singer Stevie Nicks, the third single from her successful 1981 solo debut album Bella Donna. Written by Nicks to express the grief resulting from the death of her uncle Johnathan and the murder of John Lennon during the same week of December 1980, the song features a distinctive, chugging 16th-note guitar riff, and a simple chord structure typical of Nicks’s songs.
